More trophy striped bass
are caught after dark than at any other time. Stripers
are, by nature, nocturnal feeders, so take advantage of the
after-dark hours to enjoy some of Long Island Sound’s best
Striped Bass fishing. |

A typical trip consists of slow drifting the reefs
and shoals with live eels or the predominant bait of the season,
while enjoying the tranquility of the moon and stars. Large
stripers tend to feed more heavily after dark which makes any
time during the month a great time to be out on the water at night.
The moon tides offer the best opportunity for numbers and size of
fish, so book your moon-tide trips early. |
